Sugar Rose Safaris Reviews
A Five-Star Safari with Craig - Brian and Toni in Sydney
It was when I made the booking for my partner and I to stay with Craig and Sue at their delightful Sugar Rose Guest-house - not far from the airport - that I heard about their affiliated Kruger safari business.
I jumped at the opportunity
for us to head out on a five-day round trip through the park with Craig.
What a great time we had!
Craig knows the country like the back of his hand and had planned an itinerary that took us through some magnificent scenery in the Drakensburg, with plenty of rest stops and places of interest along the way.
En route we stayed in comfortable country camp lodges located in bush settings
and, within the park, in South African rondavels. It was an authentically African
experience and really atmospheric!
Craig was a brilliant guide and companion - knowledgeable, interesting and fun to be with. Of course, we came to the park to see animals in their natural habitat.
I think that Craig must have 20/20 vision, because he was able to spot at long range and immediately identify a myriad of animals and birds, many of which were well-disguised in the long grass that had shot up after the rain. In these conditions we were lucky to see three of the "big five" (lion, elephant and buffalo) along with giraffe, zebra, hippopotamus, wildebeest, waterbuck, kudu and several other types of antelope - some in their hundreds - wild dogs, hyenas and birds of prey.
It was a memorable safari in every way - and outstanding value for money! We cannot recommend Craig's Sugar Rose Safaris more highly and hope to return.
